A Bleak Week
Despite my earlier instructions, my rss reader continues to pile up with posts of “Where I am at OOW” and “I’m at these OOW sessions” and “HAY oracle-l GUYZ LET’S MEET FOR DRINKS AT OOW.”
So I’m just going to save myself some heartache and rage and not read the Oracle blogs this week (or next week when the inevitable reviews come out). Do I sound bitter? Do I, really? Hell yes I’m bitter.
Let me know if OOW or Collaborate 2009 come to Green Bay, Wisconsin. You can all sleep over.

Don, Always look on the bright side of life.
I have started a self help group on Oracle Mix called ‘Un-OOW Attendees.’
All of our members (currently just you and me) were able to watch all the keynote speeches at our leisure and skip the boring bits
We didn’t have to fight with 2,000 people and queue for 45 minutes for food.
We aren’t loaded down with carrier bags full of marketing brochures, USB memory sticks and discarded Red ‘Ace’ Fleeces.
We (in the UK at least) won’t be jet-lagged for 3 weeks on our return which means taking a holiday. For contractors, this will represent yet more lost income.
We won’t have to do any housework, collect the kids and any DIY for a while because ‘well – you’ve just had a week’s holiday in San Francisco and you didn’t invite me.’
We (in the UK at least) were able to drink proper beer.
We were able to get breaking OOW news via Twitter quicker than people who were actually there.
And, most importantly, we didn’t have to listen to Lenny Kravitz.
:-)
